Berlo Classes: small-group GCSE maths classes for Year 11

Introducing Berlo Classes for Year 11

Over nearly twenty years of teaching, I have noticed that Year 11 pupils often do their best work when they are learning alongside others who are facing the same exams. They hear a question asked that they were too shy to ask, they see another way of tackling a problem, and they realise they are not the only one finding a topic tricky.

That is the thinking behind Berlo Classes: small-group GCSE maths lessons for Year 11, taught by me, with the exam firmly in view. As a Pearson Edexcel examiner, I know how marks are won and lost, and that insight shapes every lesson.

  • Small groups. A maximum of five students, so every child still gets real attention.
  • £25 per student, per lesson. Lessons can be paid for individually or as a bundle, which many families find easier.
  • Properly tracked. I keep a register for every class, so attendance and progress are always clear.
  • Classes run once at least two students have joined. That keeps the group lively and the lessons worthwhile for everyone.

Who is it for?

Berlo Classes suit Year 11 pupils who want regular, structured exam preparation, who would like the energy of working in a small group, or who want a more affordable way to get expert support in the run-up to their GCSEs. If your child needs a very individual plan, one-to-one tuition remains the best fit, and I am happy to talk through which is right for them.

Why choose Berlo Tutoring?

  • A qualified teacher with nearly 20 years of experience
  • Real examiner insight into how GCSE maths papers are marked
  • A calm, encouraging approach that builds confidence as well as technique

A note on availability

My face-to-face places are now full, so any new one-to-one tutoring is available online only. Online lessons work very well for most pupils, and I explain how they run in Online vs Face-to-Face Maths Tuition. If you have been thinking about getting in touch, sooner is better, as online slots are limited too.

Register your interest

Places are limited to five, and the first class can only go ahead once two students have signed up, so please register your interest early. Register your interest on the Berlo Classes page and I will be in touch with the next steps. You are also welcome to read more about my background, or see what other parents have said.
